Transformation
“I'm constantly transforming as a performer and a writer. I also work as a flight attendant. Being a flight attendant is constantly catering to the customer and the airline, whereas when you’re a model or a performer, you're suddenly the focus. So I noticed a big difference between the person that I am when I’m working, and the person that I am in my creative life. I've been modeling for about four years. At first it was really unfamiliar; I felt very uncomfortable behind the camera—still do sometimes—but I think as time has gone on, I've been able to accept myself more maybe being a little bit surprised by the person that I see and that's been a welcome surprise. You can surprise yourself after 33 years—like ‘Oh that's, that's me.’ So maybe I'll continue to change, shed layers, and be somebody new every day.”
